For Family and Friends

Family and friends are impacted by loss as well, but may not know how to talk about it.

A Grandparents' Perspective

mdamiani

As a grandparent a miscarriage carries with it a special kind of heartbreak. As parents, it is often more painful to watch our kids suffer than to go through suffering ourselves. And so when our son and daughter-in-law experienced the grief of a miscarriage, we hurt for them as well as grieved for the loss of our grandchild. So, although I’m sure that our grief was far less intense than theirs, we had that added layer of grieving for their hurt as well. Fortunately, though, that grief is not without hope. We have the confident assurance that our grandchild is now in the presence of Jesus and that one day we’ll get to meet him or her. What a great day that will be!
